Yes I have done it again and broken something else. This time it is my front shifter somehow I managed to snap it, part of the bottom section near the wee bit where the cable comes out just totally broke away after what could possibly be called a fall earlier this evening.
So screw gears I’m going to join the single speed fan club and see if it’s to my liking. Who knows how to set this up as I have no idea and will probably need some help.
Fun times
Jackrabbitt coast to coast training ride part 4
Our forth Thursday night training ride came around as quick as usual with another 7:30 start at the turf this time extra motivation was needed due to the torrential rain. So as we sheltered under a tree in the sands car park the route we were going to take was worked out.
So we are going there then are we grave
This any help there grave
Ready steady go
So from the turf we set out for London road on another epic journey in to the countryside yet again we caused as much mayhem as possible on the way to London road via ems house to get a sketch map of where to go. With map in hand we set sail for eastern way to cut on to London road once on London road we made our way towards cumwhinton road where we waited for the groop to catch up.
once we had all re grouped we forged on out to cumwhinton with a brief stop on the bridge over the M6.
from cumwhinton we headed straight through on the road to weatheral then about a mile away from weatheral we turned right for weatheral shields or is it strait on and the next right no it wasn’t double back a mile to the first turning. Once we were back on the right road heading for weatheral shields then on to armathwait along the way flying down some long steep hills. And once again we pit stopped at the pub in armathwait very quickly due to the fact we were loosing light fast and between us all we had 2 red lights and 1 high vis vest. We decided it would be safer to return the same route as we had came on as it would be safer than heading back on the A6. So it was back to weatheral shields back up the killer hills we all somehow made it up them with very few stops. From there we headed back to cumwhinton and back in to Carlisle. Where we all went our separate ways.
This ride took just over 2 hours to get to armathwait and about half the time to get back we were doing well that night.
Part 5 coming soon
Jackrabbitt coast to coast training ride part 3
Sorry for the delay but hear is the 3rd instalment of our training program. As the first two rides we met at the turf for the mystical time of 7:30.
dan and stu waiting for the all the riders to arrive

so with every one ready we set of from the turf with an idea of where we were going straight through town to cause as much anarchy as possible. Heading to the 5 road ends area of currock and upperby. From hear we pushed on up the steady incline of upperby road then on to brisco road. once we reached the city limits we pushed on out of town and on to the long slog of a hill that takes you to the village of wreay. A quick rest was needed hear due to the hill we had just climbed from wreay we headed for the A6 once there we turned right for a short section on the A6 we then took the first left turn for cotehill. In cotehill a pit stop was made at the local pub (if we are not to carful the pub pit stop will become a bit of a tradition) after suitable refreshments of coke, larger and water we set off again on our journey towards cumwhinton. From cumwhinton we pushed on for the sunny city of Carlisle along cumwhinton road and on to London road then back in to the centre of town from where we went our separate ways.
This ride was an epic due to the amount and gradient of the hills but this is the kind of ride we need to get us pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. This was also the first outing of the DMR single speed kit on the P2 single speed power.
Part 4 coming soon
