Becky is one of only ten girls from across Europe chosen to attend this prestigious event in the snowboard competition scene. The selection process was a random one with only 10 places available in the junior girl’s category. However riders ranking in the top 125 women of the TTR World Ranking list were given priority to seed directly into 50% of the open field spots, because Becky ranked 124th at the time of selection this was taken into consideration.

Becky has only been snowboarding for 3 years and this is the first year she has entered any serious competitions. Becky is overwhelmed, incredibly excited, nervous but ready for the challenges ahead. She is currently training with Snozone and the ‘Maverix’ freestyle coaching organisation and will step up her programme towards the event. She is looking forward to competing in a mountain environment for the first time.

Becky has a real passion for her snowboarding and has loved her first year of competing; she has received so much support and encouragement from her fellow competitors.

Becky started snowboarding at the age of 8. Snozone in Milton Keynes were quick to spot Becky’s potential and offered her sponsorship and enrolled her into the Snow academy when she was 9 years old. Becky’s ultimate goal and dream is to represent her country in the 2014 winter Olympics, and she is working very hard towards this.

Becky will also be competing in ‘The Brits’ in March 2010, this is our national competition held in Laxx in Switzerland. Becky broke her wrist this year competing at Norwich on the British Snow Tour. Despite this injury she went on to win a silver medal against older girls only three weeks later in the Animal Slope style competition at Snozone Castleford.

Her parents Jeff and Jane are so very proud of all that Becky has achieved this year, from winning several silver medals in the British Snow Tour series to the effort that she has put in to her fundraising for herself and for the charity Snow-camp. Becky lives in a Village in Buckinghamshire and attends Waddesdon Village Primary School. Her school and classmates have been very supportive of Becky and even had a Mufti day and cake sale to help with her fundraising. She has also given assemblies about snowboarding and Snow-camp in her own and local primary schools.

Becky has also spent the year fundraising, and donates half of all funds raised to the Snow-camp charity www.snow-camp.co.uk . She has recently just been involved in the ‘Snowball Rally 2009’ a marathon style event, trying to hit as many slopes in England as possible in just three days. Becky and her team mate Jake Binnee age 9, managed a grand total of 22 slopes. The event in total had 11 teams and the winners managed 26 slopes.

Becky is sponsored by Snozone, Maverix Coaching, Coolrider Action Sports and Plus Minus clothing.

Becky is currently looking for a business or corporate sponsor to help with the ever rising costs of travel, accommodation and entrance to events and competitions, both in the UK and abroad.
